AKAR Design Studio is a multidisciplinary practice led by Ar. Ashritha K. We design homes, workplaces and public spaces for clients across India, and stay with every project from the first sketch to handover.

One studio, from the site to the cushion.
Most homes and offices are shaped by several separate hands: an architect, an interior designer, a landscape consultant, and a contractor who tries to make them agree. At AKAR, these sit at one table. The building, the rooms inside it and the ground around it are designed together, so they read as one place.
Our work spans residential, commercial and public-sector projects. Warm timber, natural stone, soft light and generous planting run through it — calm spaces that are easy to live and work in, and built to last in our climate.

Ar. Ashritha K
Principal Architect and Urban Planner
Ashritha founded AKAR after years of teaching architecture and urban planning, and still brings a teacher’s clarity to every client conversation. Her work centres on sustainable architecture, public space design and urban flood resilience.
She presented the paper Aquaphony: Symphony of Bengaluru’s Resilience at the 72nd National Town and Country Planners Conference.
